My cute daughter-in-law, Jess, introduced me to Amigurumi a couple of years back.

 Jess with beautiful Emily

There are so many creative, funny, silly patterns online. I haven't done much, but having an adorable grandbaby to crochet for has spurred me on to make a couple of things.

I made this right after she was born. It's called "Pond Friends Stacking Toy" and I found the pattern here (you have to register for a free account to access their patterns, but there are TONS, so it's worth it).
The bee is my favorite, but the lily pads make me happy too!

I bought the pattern below from this Etsy shop.
Yup! It's rattle!! Can you say ADORABLE!!
The picture is by Mamachee because I forgot to take one before I gave it to Emily.

I'm almost finished with another toy. I'll post pictures when I'm done.

(This is my current screensaver -- LOVE that smile!)

  3. Oh Happy Mom! You are making me happy with such sweet pictures. Our second grandbaby is on the way this summer and I can't wait to be home for it! While we have been in England for a year, I laid off Mona's Gospel Musings, but I'm writing there again every Sunday and I miss you. With my release as RS President here (very intense), I'm looking so forward to following my favorite blogs again like yours. I'm also a contributor now at Mormon Mommy blogs, so we'll maybe meet up there too. Enjoy your dear little bundle of joy to the max! http://monasgospelmusings.blogspot.com/

  5. What a cute little baby, and what a cute grandma to make such darling little things. My best friend here, Mandy has an etsy shop where you can get the cutest pattern for hats (my little Averie is the model in a bunch of the pictures). They are so sweet. Here's the link http://www.etsy.com/shop/msybrowsky. Happy crocheting! I hope to get into it myself one of these days!

  6. Hi, my name is Brandi Henderson. I am soon going to be your sons sister in-law. So you haven't met me yet, but I like reading your blog. I love how you adore you daughter in-laws. You always have such sweet things to say about them. Amanda is one lucky girl.

I also think these crochet ideas are really cute! Thanks for sharing! :)

  8. Cute crocheted toys for that cute grand baby! It's so much fun being a grandma!
On a different note, I'm anxious to hear what others have to say about the book club book. I finished reading it and really enjoyed it. Thanks for choosing.
